The Process
Getting your next RHD postal delivery vehicle from Postal Driven is easy. Follow the steps below and you’ll see exactly how it works.
Start
Start here: Go to the ‘For Sale’ page and choose the vehicle that’s right for you. There are lots of photos and even video so you can see every aspect of each hand-picked pre-inspected RHD vehicle and make your choice with confidence.
2
Found one you like? Hit the ‘Reserve Now’ button to claim it before anyone else does. (And if you can’t find the right-hand drive vehicle you’re after, sign up for SMS alerts to make sure you’re first in line when the model you want does come in!)
3
If you’re first in line, we’ll send you a Purchase Agreement for you to sign electronically (it’s easy), and then have you pay the non-refundable deposit of $500. If you weren’t first in line, we’ll put you on the wait list, or suggest a different RHD vehicle option.
4
We get the car booked on a ship from Japan. Getting a booking may take a few days, and it may be a few weeks until your car actually leaves, but that’s nothing to worry about. There are lots of paperwork, customs, and other hoops to jump through which is why it can take a little time but, don’t worry, we take care of that. And you’ll know when the car’s leaving and when it’s arriving as soon as we do.
5
The car leaves on the ship travelling across the Pacific. This is when we get something called the Bill of Lading, which is a legal document from the shipping company that shows you that your car is coming on that ship under your name. This is also when you pay the remainder balance due. The ship takes a while to travel (from about 18 days to California, up to about 35 days to Baltimore) but don’t wait too long to pay so there won’t be any delays on arrival. We’ll send you a link so you can follow it’s progress across the ocean from your phone.
6
At the same time, we’re sending you some minor paperwork which is basically you authorizing us to handle US customs clearance on your behalf. As part of this, you will also pay a one-time customs bond of $55 to US Customs. Again, we help make this simple for you with clear instructions.
7
So, now your car’s arrived in America. You’ll see this on the ship tracker if you’ve been following its progress, but you won’t have to do anything. We handle the US Customs clearance and the import procedure on your behalf. Then, once it’s cleared, we arrange for a trucking company to come and pick it up for you.
End
It’s here! Your car is delivered to your address. You pay the trucker using CashApp or Venmo. But this isn’t quite the end of the road. There’s one more thing you need to do before you can go out on the highway — get it registered and plated at the DMV. Don’t worry, we have you covered. Take the paperwork we sent you and follow our instructions, and you’ll be done in no time. Now you’re ready to start delivering … the right way. Enjoy!
